I would like
to personally welcome you to McGovern Elementary! I feel very honored to be McGovern’s
principal and look forward to working with families, community members and our
amazing staff. We are very fortunate to
have a school model which allows our students to receive core instruction and
in addition, receive a workshop in each core area (reading, writing,
math). Our staff are actively analyzing
data to meet individual needs of students as they move throughout the school
year. The students and staff also realize the importance of being well rounded
citizens so our staff adopted and embraced the philosophies behind the PBS
model. What is PBS? PBS (Positive Behavioral Systems) teaches
students how to be responsible, safe and respectful in all areas of the school
and when they are in the community. We
like to catch students when they are making the right choices! When students are making the right choices
they will receive a cheetah spot which can be turned in at our PBS store once a
week. Our school is also recognizing
classrooms each day who have perfect attendance. Attendance is crucial as students need to be
present to continue their learning.
