Hello McGovern Families! December has arrived and the year continues to fly by! This Thursday, December 4th students with perfect attendance for the first quarter and honor roll students will be recognized. In addition, students will enjoy watching me kiss Hampton the Pig as a result of the students amazing efforts in exceeding our fall school fundraiser. Finally, December brings the wonderful cold and wet weather of Oregon. Please make sure your student is dressed warmly. If you need assistance with clothing to help your child stay warm we now have a clothing closet at McGovern. This effort was organized by our Behavioral Specialist, Cindy Shirtcliff and we have been adopted by Diana Wales, PC and the Arneson Group Law Firms. Please contact the office if you would like to access the McGovern Clothing Closet. Erika J. Pinkerton Principal |

2nd Annual Turkey Celebration The red carpet was rolled out for our proud students who decorated colorful turkeys. Students walked the red carpet showing off the turkey their classroom cleverly decorated. This years winner for the 2nd year in a row was Mrs. Bishop’s classroom with the Dirt Bike Dan Turkey. The Gobble Off winner this year was the returning champ Jesse Sargent. Jesse’s skills once again shined for this extremely competitive event. The Turkey Derby included a jockey from each classroom moving their turkey across a game-board based on their turkey’s number and if their number was rolled on the dice then their turkey advanced forward. This year’s winner was 4th grade! It was a very exciting day and there were many smiles and laughs throughout the event. |
